Interviewer: Today I'm interviewing Dr. Grace Lordan on our article with joint author Teresa Almeida, of 14th of June, 2022 in MIT Sloan Management Review titled, 'how empathy and competence promoted diverse leadership culture'. Listeners are expected to have read the article before listening to this interview. Dr. Lordan is an associate professor at London School of Economics and Political Science and founding director of The Inclusion Initiative. She is also author of the book, 'Big Think, Take Small Steps and Build the Future You Want', published in 2022 by Penguin Life. Dr. Lordan thank you for sparing the time for this interview. I suspect that I may be asking, the who and how questions, often in this interview. You completed your article with the following, "In the financial sector, meaningful changes need to occur at the manager level. Training managers on inclusive leadership and emphasizing their role in bringing diverse voices together to spur innovation is key to supporting these efforts". Dr. Lordan, who should do the training and how should the training be done? Dr. Lordan: That's a really great question because I think that fundamentally training like this doesn't exist broadly. I would love people to come to the London School of Economics and get the training naturally enough. But I think the how part is the really important bit of this question,
