Biography
Moses Shayo is an associate professor of economics at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the Center for the Study of Rationality. His main research interests are in political economy and behavioral economics. One central theme is understanding the determinants and implications of social identity, and developing a theoretical framework where identities are endogenous.
He uses this framework to study income redistribution, nationalism, ethnic conflict, judicial decision-making, international integration and consumption behavior. A second theme is how economic integration and financial markets shape values, preferences and political behavior, and whether they can reduce conflict.
