Biography
Dr. Montserrat Bárcena is an assistant professor at the section Electron Microscopy in the Department of Cell and Chemical Biology at the Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC) in The Netherlands. Dr. Bárcena obtained her PhD in 2000 at the Universidad Autónoma (Madrid) working on cryo-EM and single particle analysis in the group of Prof. José María Carazo. After a period in the group of Prof. Teresa Ruiz at Vermont University as a Fulbright postdoctoral fellow, she joined the lab of Prof. Bram Koster at LUMC thanks to an EMBO (2003) and Marie Curie fellowships (2005).
