This presentation will examine Airway Management, with a focus on the importance of airway management in acute and critical care, emphasizing early recognition and systematic assessment of airway compromise. We will discuss key assessment tools and techniques, escalation pathways for interventions, and the use of various airway devices including OPAs, NPAs, supraglottic devices, and endotracheal tubes. The lecture will highlight the significance of continuous monitoring and adherence to guidelines, as well as the need for regular training and preparedness for emergencies. Ultimately, timely, systematic, and skilled intervention is crucial to safeguarding patient outcomes in airway emergencies.. Airway Management—one of the most fundamental aspects of acute and critical care. Securing a patient’s airway is often the first priority in any medical emergency or anesthesia. A compromised airway may rapidly lead to hypoxia and, if not addressed, irreversible brain injury or death. The main aims are maintaining ventilation and oxygenation while preventing aspiration or further injury. This session will explore key principles, practical assessment, and interventions. Effective airway management begins with a systematic assessment. Predicting a difficult airway can mean the difference between smooth intubation and crisis. Observe for signs of compromise such as difficulty speaking in full sentences or obvious struggle. Listen for abnormal sounds—
