Welcome to this case study talk with me, Rowena Hennigan on Online Learning in Education During the COVID-19 pandemic. This is the perfect opportunity to reflect on what happened in the wider online learning sector and community in response to the coronavirus.
For the contents of the talk, we'll start off with an introduction where I'll introduce myself and the topic. We'll look at the context at the moment during the pandemic, we'll look at impacted issues related to the pandemic, we'll look at some of the potential benefits of what's happening and also supports available, what are the responses to the situation from institutions and within the wider online education community. I'll offer some analysis and then the conclusion.
This case study talk supplements the online learning and business education series, which I previously was the series editor for, which is available on the Henry Stewart Talks platform. You'll see a summary of the content now presented in front of you. This was a wide ranging series helping academics and support staff who work in online learning design, deliver, and implement online learning within business education.
Let me introduce myself. My name is Rowena Hennigan, I'm a lecturer based at TU Dublin in Ireland but I am fully remote. I work delivering virtually to various corporate education programs. I'm also a project consultant working in the area of online learning. I recently co-authored and developed the Future of Work Level 8 module at the university. Because I work on a variety of different projects for both corporate and public sector clients, I've experience across multiple different methods on platforms of delivery and online learning. In other words, I've exposure to lots of different learning management systems and virtual learning environments. I'm also the series editor for the Henry Stewart Talks: Online Learning for Business Education series.
