Hi, my name is Laurel Farrer.
I'm the CEO of Distribute Consulting,

I'm also the founder of the Remote Work Association,
which is an international community of remote work experts and advocates.
Today I'm going to be speaking about the virtual organization,
which is the topic of organizational development and behavior for distributed teams.
I've been an operations manager of
distributed teams and hybrid teams for the past 14 years.
This is how I gained my experience in the topic of remote work,
and it's something that I feel very passionately about,
how to make remote work successful and sustainable.

As I mentioned earlier,

Just to get to know us and our expertise a little bit better,
what qualifies us to be discussing this topic
is that we do specialize in change management for distributed teams.
We take companies from physical to virtual,
and that can be 100 percent virtual or a hybrid model.
But in addition to that, we also specialize in infrastructure strategy.
This is where we design programs and initiatives that
leverage virtual jobs to solve a problem of some kind.
This can be something small and internal in a business (like a high turnover rate,
or a diversity and inclusion problem in their workforce), or it can be
much larger on a socio-economic scale
(like environmental sustainability or economic development,
or again, diversity and inclusion).
Then finally, we also specialize in content and events.
This is a specialty in which we help
companies understand remote workers as a consumer profile.
Companies now need to not only have remote workers in their staff,
but also understand how to sell to remote workers,
and so we help inform that business development cycle as well.
