Hello, my name is Stephen Frost and
I'm going to be discussing diversity and inclusion in a virtual world.

Now that we're all remote workers,
it doesn't mean that we're all competent remote workers.
To be so, you need to be inclusive.
This is what we're going to explore in terms of what
it means, and what practical things you can do
(whatever your level) to help you,
your team, and the business overall.
We're going to be talking about how to support, coach,
and look out for your teammates,
and how to communicate with them in this remote, virtual world.
My background is in terms of diversity inclusion for the past 20 years.
I've been working on this in the non-profit sector,
private sector, and the public sector.
My biggest job to date was in charge of
the London Olympic and Paralympic Games as Head of Diversity and Inclusion.
I've also worked with KPMG, Stonewall, and a range of organisations.
I run an organisation called Frost Included, and together with
the team we work on strategy,
data, leadership, governance, and systems to help build inclusive organisations,
working with CEOs and HRDs across the world.
Today we're going to be applying all that expertise and knowledge
to the issue of leading teams in a virtual world.

Right now, the world may feel challenging in terms of remote working.
This has come as a shock to many of us who are not used to remote working,
who are used to physically being present in an office
or working environment, along with colleagues.
It can feel like things are shut down,
things are disconnected, things are discombobulated,
and that can cause anxiety, even fear.
This is natural and normal and
I want to empathise with that,
but it's not all bad.
