Biography
Prof. George Perry is a distinguished neuroscientist and a leading researcher in Alzheimer’s disease. He holds the Semmes Foundation Distinguished University Chair in Neurobiology in the Department of Neuroscience, Developmental and Regenerative Biology at The University of Texas at San Antonio and previously served as Dean of the College of Sciences. Perry’s research has focused on the cellular mechanisms of Alzheimer’s disease, particularly oxidative stress and neuronal damage, making him one of the most cited scientists in neuroscience and behavior with over 1,000 publications. He is also the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease and has received numerous international honors and fellowships for his contributions to neurobiology.
