Good day to you all. Let me just quickly introduce myself. I'm Hendrik Cronje, leading leadership development initiative in South Africa, which we started as a leadership center at the University of Pretoria, and now functioning as a multi-university initiative working on leadership for development. But my talk to you will be about business and the lessons I've learned from working in a big corporation, particularly as it relates to intuitive intelligence.

Intuitive intelligence we've learned is extremely valuable in business and often the only route out of disaster.

Albert Einstein has been widely quoted as saying, "The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant." He's saying we've created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift. In my own experience, we've often seeing that in business as well, where intuitive intelligence is not rated as such and where often the servant, as Albert Einstein refers to, actually ruins the expedition.

The case study I'm referring to, relates to my experiences in a multi-disciplinary construction, engineering, and manufacturing organization, operating during a very challenging period of political, economic, and technological change. The organization originally started as a construction company and they've changed considerably over time, and the latest strategy looks very different from the times of change and it was predominantly through realizing that change is necessary, and that intuitive intelligence is the way to go.
