In this talk, we turn our attention to cardiac ischemia and myocardial infarction, framing our discussion around the definition and underlying causes of cardiac ischemia and myocardial infarction, their main risk factors, clinical presentation and diagnostic methods. We will discuss immediate and definitive treatment options, including medications and interventional procedures, as well as possible complications and their management. Finally, we will emphasize the importance of early intervention, rehabilitation and long term strategies for prevention and improved patient outcomes. Cardiac ischemia or myocardial ischemia is a condition where reduced 血流 deprives the heart muscle of essential oxygen and nutrients. When the heart's demands exceed supply, cells malfunction, and if the deficit is severe or prolonged, tissue damage results. The most serious consequence is myocardial infarction, a heart attack, where part of the heart muscle dies. Ischemic heart disease remains a leading cause of death worldwide. Reduced blood flow to the heart is most often caused by narrowing or blockage of the coronary arteries, mainly due to atherosclerosis, a gradual buildup of fatty plaques and fibrous tissue, plaque rupture can result in rapid blood clot formation, further obstructing flow.
