This presentation will deal with the connection
between thyroid hormones and mitochondrial biogenesis.

Presentation is divided into the following six parts.
First, I would like to address the connection between
thyroid hormones and mitochondrial biogenesis.
Next, I would like to focus on the generation and delivery of thyroid hormone.
Third, the regulation of gene expression which is mediated by thyroid hormone.
And the regulation of thyroid hormones which are non genomically.
Then I would like to point to the thyroid hormone metabolism.
And finally, to the impact of thyroid hormone and
thyroid hormone derivatives on mitochondrial biogenesis.

There are multiple direct connections between
thyroid hormone and mitochondrial biogenesis.
Thyroid hormone triggers for example;
increased pulse rate and heart weight.
They lead to an increased energy substrate uptake and utilization,
they increased the total energy consumption,
they increased the cellular respiratory rates among others.
All these effects are closely connected to mitochondrial biogenesis.
