Biography

Dr. Gina Touch Mercer is a licensed clinical psychologist and Director of the Behavioral and Social Sciences Theme at the University of Arizona College of Medicine Phoenix. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Geropsychology and has practiced psychotherapy and psychological assessment for over 25 years. She has a clinical specialty... read morein the treatment of trauma and addiction, and serves as the clinical director of an integrated Addiction Medicine intensive outpatient program for pregnant and parenting women. She previously designed curriculum and taught for 10 years as core faculty in the doctoral clinical psychology program of the Arizona School of Professional Psychology, and served as core faculty and Behaviorist at the Abrazo Family Medicine Residency in Phoenix, Arizona. She completed her undergraduate training in psychology at St. Bonaventure University in Olean, New York, obtained a Master’s degree in Family Studies from the University of Tennessee, and received a doctorate in Counseling Psychology from the University of Houston. She received health psychology and behavioral medicine training at Baylor College of Medicine, Department of Family Medicine and served as Director of Geriatrics and staff of the Anxiety Treatment Center at the St. Louis Behavioral Medicine Institute.
