Biography

Ann Daly is currently Professor of Pharmacogenetics at the Institute of Cellular Medicine, Faculty of Medical Sciences, Newcastle University, Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. She received her PhD from the University of Dublin (Trinity College), performing biochemical studies on aldo-keto reductases and glutathione S-transferases under the direction of Dr. Tim Mantle.... read moreShe subsequently worked on nuclear structure at the University of Geneva with Professor Ulrich Laemmli and then moved to Newcastle University, working initially on the molecular biology of retinoic acid action. In 1989, she joined the newly formed Pharmacogenetics group at Newcastle. Her current research is focused on the pharmacogenetics of the human cytochrome P450, genetic susceptibility to adverse drug reactions and the genetics of complex diseases, particularly liver disease.
