Hi, everybody. My name is Charlotte Pearce.
I'm the CEO and founder of a group called The Human Group but,
specifically, of a technology company with a difference, called Inkpact.
So, I've been on a bit of a roller coaster of a journey
for the last four years setting up the group and Inkpact.
But, it's really been my mission along the way to help businesses to be more human.
So, I'm going to talk to you a little bit today about my journey,
how I started the business,
how I came up with the idea,
some of the challenges, and end on some kind of hints and tips and things that I've
learned along the way in the roller coaster that is starting your own business.

I live by a bit of a philosophy, which I always like to share with people
whenever I'm doing any kind of talk or presentation,
a workshop, because you'll see the kind of
themes throughout the whole presentation,
which is around the principles of growth, gratitude, and giving.
I try and embrace this within my life, personally, and within the company.
So, hopefully, you will see that theme throughout the whole presentation as well.

So, my journey to entrepreneurship and
starting Inkpact and the Group started when I was really young,
I think I was about 13 or 14, and I fell in love with selling makeup online.
So, the principle of it is really simple,
you buy it for less and you sell it for more-
I could make money in my pajamas at home.
I started my first online shop, then, and I absolutely loved it.
I could make money whenever I wanted to;
I was in charge of my own time.
But, it really taught me a fundamental lesson which is,
business doesn't have to be complicated.
All I did was take the photos a little bit better and
do slightly quirky or cooler copy and texts,
and my items sold on eBay over anyone else's-
it's just a skill that I think is just simplicity, really.
Actually, that has stayed with me for the rest of my life,
but I've just got the bug from entrepreneurship here.
