Background of my presentation
is this assessment
of health promoting
lifestyle behavior
of university
workers in Nigeria.
Health promoting lifestyle
enhances individual well-being,
self actualization and
personal fulfillment.
There is a link between
most Non-communicable
diseases such
as hypertension, diabetes,
obesity and no observance of
health promoting lifestyle
contributing to
high mobility and
mortality has been
established globally.

According to the World
Health Organization,
15 million of all
death attributed
to Non-communicable
diseases that occur between
the age of 30 and 69 years
and over three quarters of
the death happen in
low and middle income countries
of which Nigeria is one.
Health promoting lifestyle
practices reduce
non communicable disease
mortality rate by
50% and increase life expectancy
by more than 11 years.
Study does not establish
cause and effect relationship
but provide valuable insight
into the prevalence
and association.
There is an association
between health promoted
lifestyle and
non-communicable diseases.
That's why there was
not any cost effect
relationship provided but with
a descriptive and other
study has demonstrated
that there's a relationship
between the prevalence
and the association.
