former CEO of Philips
Pakistan and have been
associated with business
of IC technology
and therefore presenting it to
you this wonderful subject.
This subject has made a big
impact on products around
the world and this has happened
during the last 40 or 50 years.

It was Intel and
Texas Instrument which pioneered
IC technology challenge.
The invention of
IC came from them.
The Intel innovation
was far more
significant as it was
the first attempt to
integrate a full circuit.
The invention of IC and
microprocessor is largely
credited to Robert Noyce,
both Noyce of Intel and
Kilby of Texas Instrument are
considered co-inventors
of integrated circuits.

The IC,
the integrated circuit, is a
complete circuit by itself.
It includes transistors,
CMOS, that is
complementary metal-oxide
semiconductor and
field-effect transistors
with capacitor, resistor,
and other components,
which are miniaturized and
perform a function when
used in an analog or
digital circuitry.
Since it is made on
a silicon wafer,
this miniaturized
circuit consumed
very little power and
millions of components
are packed inside.
