Hello, everyone. My name is Samik Ghosh. I'm a Senior Scientist at the Systems Biology Institute in Tokyo, Japan. The title of my talk today is, Garuda platform: re-imagining connectivity in medicine.
0:18
I'll start by giving a broad vision driving the platform, moving on to an overview of the computational landscape in systems biology and bioinformatics, and then explain the components of the platform, and finally end with a few use cases related to the use of the Garuda platform in research in biomedicine and healthcare.

The vision driving the platform is to create an engine of scientific discovery. All of us as researchers working in the field of biomedicine and healthcare have immense amount of data and use different types of computational tools, machine-learning algorithms, experimental techniques, which provide you dimensions to the data, and we believe we are at a cusp in research which will enable us to link up, connect these diverse set of tools, technologies, database towards building an engine of scientific discovery. That vision drives the platform which we have built.
