Early on in my career in
management consulting,
I developed a strong passion for
exploring the future of the
industries I was working in.
I also became really
interested in
staying updated on
the emerging trends,
and that leads into
today's topic:
Emerging Trends in
Pharmaceutical Marketing.
0:20
The pharmaceutical industry is
at a very interesting point.
The adoption of
modern marketing techniques has
been relatively
slow historically.
This is because
the industry faces
some unique challenges,
like tighter regulations
that keep evolving.
Data privacy requirements,
especially in the
European Union.
A cultural resistance
to change and
limitations in what
technology can do in
the field of drug
discovery and marketing.
However, we have seen some
significant progress since
the pandemic because
that event pushed us to
rely more on technology.
For example, we moved from
launching mass campaigns to
a large set of audience to now
precise and
personalized marketing.
From treating diseases to
actually delivering value
across the healthcare system.
Giving medicine to the
entire population with
a specific condition to now
developing and delivering
precision medicines.
I'm going to talk about these
topics in more details.
Now we are also utilizing
digital devices more and more.
Health tech companies that
traditionally used
to compete are
now increasingly
collaborating for
drug discovery and marketing.
Now to an era where modern AI,
technologies, and large
language models are
making us more effective.
While some of these
challenges we
have faced may seem to be tough,
pharmaceutical companies
can overcome them and
gain a comparative advantage by
delivering more effective and
personalized marketing that
really resonates well with
healthcare providers
and patients using
modern technologies and methods.
But successfully adopting
modern techniques still means
finding the right balance
between following regulations,
maintaining ethical
standards and
pushing for continued
innovation.
A very important development in
