I'm delighted to be talking with you today about workplace well-being and the science of human flourishing. We know from numerous research studies coming out of the global COVID-19 pandemic period that unfortunately workplace well-being has significantly decreased in the last several years and that that is having a number of really critical outcomes both for businesses and organizations but also for broader human well-being and flourishing. Hi. I'm Dr. Brandy Simula. I use she and they pronouns and I'm the founder of Brandy L. Simula Coaching and Consulting. I'm a consultant and executive coach whose practice focuses on the intersections of leadership development, diversity, equity inclusion and belonging, and workplace well-being. I earned my PhD in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and Sociology from Emory University in the United States. After a first career chapter as a professor of sociology and social psychology, I've spent the last decade leveraging my doctoral training in behavioral science, DEIB, and social psychology to help executives, senior leaders and organizations address critical workplace cultural and organizational development challenges by implementing evidence-based practices that support purpose, productivity, inclusion, and well-being. I'm passionate about helping organizations develop leaders who cultivate inclusive people-centric cultures that empower people to do meaningful, values-aligned, highly productive work while flourishing personally and professionally. I'm ICF, ACC, and board certified executive and leadership coach and member of the Forbes Coaches Council. I speak, write, coach, and consult on leadership and organizational development, DEIB, workplace culture, well-being, and women's and LGBTQ+ career and leadership development. My work has been published in Harvard Business Review, Forbes, Inside Higher Ed, Women in Higher ED, and numerous academic journals and research anthologies.
