Let me introduce you to the series objectives. When putting together these series, we looked at contexts, that is the context of online learning within business education, represent the pedagogies of how online learning works, and we looked at how to embed and how to integrate technologies effectively. We also aim to provide practical guides, how-to guides on key elements and activities. We looked at the consideration that may be in licensing, and the use of existing education resources. We looked at the topic of communicating effectively online. We took an entrepreneurial view and decided to look at what exactly is the business of online learning, then we took a look forward and looked at the future trends in the area of online learning. Finally, the IBEC global graduates case-study is a two part case-study putting into practice the practical elements of online learning.

Our intended audience for these series are the academics and educational support staff at universities and third-level institutions who have a project in the area of online learning. This series could also be of interest to undergraduate and post-graduate students who are studying the area generally,or are being tasked with either creating online learning content or conducting related research. Also, a more general audience could be relevant to students, who from various disciplines may be interested in pursuing a career in the growing industry area of online learning.
