Rolf Bodmer received his undergraduate and doctoral degree in biochemistry and neuroscience at the University of Basel, Switzerland, and his postdoctoral training in neuroscience and genetics at the University of California, San Francisco. As Professor at the Burnham Institute for Biomedical Research, he generated a Drosophila model for heart function, aging and related diseases. His current area of research continues to be elucidating the genetic basis of heart development, function and aging.
