Josef Prchal is a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Hematology and Pathology and Genetics at the University of Utah Health Sciences Center. His research focuses on defining the molecular basis of inherited and acquired blood diseases in the areas of erythrocyte enzymology, polycythemias, erythropoiesis and hemoglobin variants.
