Highlights of her career include serving as CEO of the Tourism Business Council of South Africa, and organising/hosting the Hospitality Investment Conference Africa (HICA) for 10 years, and the South African Travel and Tourism Summit (SATTIC), which brought together travel and tourism public and private sector stakeholders in South Africa. She is a director of several organisations including her own Travel and Events Management company called Africa Tourism Connect, and Gecko Afrika Holdings. Ms Ramawela serves as the President of the International institute for Peace through Tourism Southern Africa chapter (IIPTSA). She is also a speaker, and a moderator/facilitator of discussions, having participated in leading events such as the Africa Hotel investment Forum (AHIF), and Africa Property Investment Summit (API). Ms. Ramawela holds a Master’s degree in Leadership in Emerging Economies from the University of Johannesburg and is currently completing a PhD in Business Management at the University of Pretoria.
