He was the first Indian to be officially trained in Andrology and Reproductive Sciences. He and his team started the first Voluntary semen bank in India in 1988. They reported for the first time in the world on Cryopreservation of Epididymal spermatozoa in 1993 and Testicular tissue in 1997. He ran several higher training programs in Andrology, Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility and Embryology at Chettinad Academy of Research and Education.
