Raised in Cranbury, New Jersey, Nilay earned a B.S. in biology from The College of New Jersey, a Ph.D. in molecular biology from Princeton University, and M.D. from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He then completed an internal medicine residency at the University of California, San Francisco and medical oncology fellowship at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
