Biography

Dr. Grisshammer’s research focuses on understanding the mechanistic aspects and structural changes which occur during the activation of G protein-coupled receptors. Dr. Grisshammer received his Ph.D. degree in 1990 from the Johann-Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany, where he worked with Hartmut Michel at the Max-Planck-Institute of Biophysics. Dr. Grisshammer joined the NIH in 2001.
