Steven Sacks is an academic nephrologist with an interest in complement, transplantation, and infection. He is former founding Director of the MRC Centre for Transplantation at King’s College London. His research addresses the functional significance of locally produced complement components and their influence on transplant ischaemia-reperfusion injury and rejection. He... read morehas pioneered the development of advanced techniques that allow imaging and blockade of complement activation within tissues. He is co-lead of Complement UK – a national training and research organisation that promotes collaborative industry-sponsored PhD studentships. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences, a Fellow of King’s College London, and National Institute for Health Research Senior Investigator Emeritus.
