Biography

Eamonn Maher MD FRCP FMedSci is a clinician scientist and Head of Department of Medical Genetics at the University of Cambridge. Previously he was Professor of Medical Genetics at the University of Birmingham (UK) where he established the Centre for Rare Diseases and Personalised Medicine. His research interests cover clinical... read moreand molecular aspects of human disease genetics with particular focus on human cancer genetics, genomic imprinting and autosomal recessively inherited developmental disorders. He holds a European Research Council Advanced Researcher Award and research in his laboratory is supported by a variety of national and international funding agencies. He has authored or co-authored >400 peer-reviewed publications and his H-index is 75. He was Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Medical Genetics from 1998-2009 and is a frequent invited speaker at national and international conferences.
