Edward Boyko, MD, MPH, is a Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Washington in Seattle, Chief of the General Internal Medicine Section at VA Puget Sound Health Care System and the former Director of the Seattle Epidemiologic Research and Information Center. He has interests in the development and consequences of visceral adiposity, metabolic syndrome, foot complications, and diabetes in Alaska Native populations. Dr. Boyko has served as consultant for NIH, VA, private foundations, and industry. He currently serves as Visiting Professor at the International Diabetes Institute in Melbourne. He is Associate Editor of the journals Diabetes Care and The American Journal of Epidemiology, and a member of the Editorial Board of Obesity. He also currently serves as Chair of the NIH Kidney, Nutrition, Obesity, and Diabetes (KNOD) Study Section.
