Biography

Nagy Habib is a Professor of Hepatobiliary Surgery and Head of Pancreas and Liver Surgery at Hammersmith Hospitals NHS Trust. He is internationally known as an academic surgeon with an interest in liver cancer. He is the pioneer of two new surgical techniques which are in common surgical practice. He... read morewas also the first to undertake a gene therapy clinical trial in patients with liver cancer. More recently he has been researching the use of adult stem cells for the treatment of various diseases. Professor Habib's research in this field has led to the first clinical study of autologous adult bone marrow stem cells in patients with chronic liver insufficiency.
