In 2014 he received the American Aging Association’s Denham Harman Lifetime Achievement in Research Award and in 2015 he was named a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Over the past 8 years his research has had a special focus on healthspan and longevity extension by interventions that enhance mitochondrial function.
