Hello, my name is
Luisa Villegas.
I am a project management
consultant with
over 25 years of experience,
managing projects in
more than 30 countries
around the world.
Today, we are going to explore
the intricacies of managing
international projects,
a critical skill in
our increasingly
interconnected world.

I'm a PMI-certified project
management professional (PMP),
a PMI-certified trainer,
and a Disciplined
Agile Scrum Master.
A large part of my experience is
managing projects in challenging
environments such as
responding to natural disasters,
humanitarian crisis,
fostering democracy
in closed societies,
but also promoting goodwill and
advancing social
opportunities for
vulnerable communities.

International projects
play a key role in
helping global businesses
and organizations to
expand their reach and
achieve their objectives.
Successful management of
this project requires
not just technical
skills, but also
a deep understanding
of different cultural,
political, and
regulatory environments.
Throughout this talk,
we will dive into
the best practices for
successfully managing
international projects,
illustrated with
a case study from
one of my favorite
projects where
I led an exchange between
indigenous leaders from
Alaska and Bolivia.
This example will
allow us to explore
both the challenges and
the rewarding outcomes that
come with international
collaboration.
By the end of this session,
you will have a broader
understanding of
the strategies and tools
you can use to navigate
the complexities of
international
project management.
