Medium of Knowledge.
0:34
The Japanese government has
proposed a new vision for
society in 2016 in
the face of Japan's
biggest challenge,
population shrinkage and aging.
Society 5.0 as a part of
the fifth science and
technology basic plan is
advocated as a future society
that Japan should aim for.
It follows a hunting
society (Society 1.0),
agricultural society
(Society 2.0),
industrial society,
(Society 3.0),
and information society
which is Society 4.0.
This super smart
society, Society 5.0,
emphasizes the use of
advanced technologies
such as AI and the Internet
of Things in daily life.
It aims to promote
a society that
efficiently and
compassionately uses
technology to meet human needs.
AR, augmented reality and VR,
virtual realty are also seen as
technologies that
support Society 5.0.
The key feature is
the comprehensive integration of
cyberspace and the
physical spaces.
