Clinical Proteomics
Summary
There is little doubt that studying an organism's complete complement of proteins will have a great impact in all areas of biological science in the years to come. To really understand biological processes, we need to understand how proteins function in and around cells since they are the functioning units... read moreof an organism.
The scope of this series encompasses the current developments in clinical proteomics and biomarker research. The first section of the series will cover technical considerations including the choice of specimen, statistics, application of high-dimensional classifiers and the challenges associated with biomarker research in general as well as regulatory aspects that should be considered. A second section will cover application of clinical proteomics in those fields that currently appear the most promising; in this second section we will include the clinician’s perspective to further underline the translational aspect of clinical proteomics.
