Judith A. James, MD, PhD, is the Lou Kerr Chair in Biomedical Research at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation and Professor of Medicine/Adjunct Professor of Pathology at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. Dr. James earned her PhD in Immunology and MD at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences... read moreCenter. After graduation, she completed her residency in internal medicine and her rheumatology fellowship at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. Dr. James' research interests focus on understanding the etiology and pathogenesis of lupus and related disorders, genetic predisposition and environmental triggers for systemic rheumatic autoimmune disease, the evolution and pathogenic mechanisms of autoantibodies in systemic rheumatic disease and development of diagnostic assays for autoimmune disorders. She has published over 80 scientific articles on these and other related topics. Dr. James has received several prestigious awards including the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers and election to the American Society of Clinical Investigation.
