Peter Mackenzie received his PhD from The University of Sydney in 1976. His major research interest is the molecular biology of the UDP glucuronosyltransferases and their role in chemical carcinogenesis and detoxification. He has published over 100 papers in the area and is currently UGT Specialist Advisor to the HUGO Gene Nomenclature Committee. He has served on the council and committees of many national and international professional societies and is on the editorial boards of seven journals.
