Michael Akritas is Professor of Statistics at the Pennsylvania State University. He received his PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1978 and held positions at MIT and the University of Rochester before moving to Penn State in 1985. Current interdisciplinary work involves the social and medical sciences. Dr. Akritas is a Fellow of the American Statistical Association and the Institute of Mathematical Statistics.
