Biography

JoEllen Welsh is currently a Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Notre Dame, where she teaches courses in cancer biology, mentors graduate students and postdoctoral fellows and conducts NIH sponsored research on nuclear receptors and cancer. She received her undergraduate training in biology at Rutgers... read moreUniversity and conducted her PhD dissertation at Cornell University. Dr. Welsh has held previous appointments at the University of Ottawa and the W. Alton Jones Cell Science Center, serves as a member of the Chemo and Dietary Prevention NIH study section, and has published extensively on the role of vitamin D signaling in mammary gland development and breast cancer.
