Alberto Mantovani (DVM, MSc in veterinary public health) worked for 40 years at the Italian National Institute of Health (Istituto Superiore di Sanità, ISS), till his retirement in 2023 as research director in toxicology and food safety (ORCID: 0000-0003-1449-0330). He has contributed to the development of the international framework of... read morerisk assessment at the OECD and European Food Safety Authority (2003-18 in the areas of feeds, pesticides and emerging risks; currently external expert). To date, he is member of the Risk Assessment Committee at the European Chemical Agency) and of the Italian National Food Safety Committee (since 2011). Always passionate about transdisciplinary collaboration and emerging topics, hence One Health, he contributed to the One Health European Joint Programme, where he co-organized the international Summer School “Environmental Issues in One Health” (2021) and to Technical Advisory Group for One Health of WHO-Europe (2023-24).
