Dr. Ernesto Ippolito specialized in Orthopedics and Traumatology at the University of Rome "La Sapienza" in 1972, and was appointed Associate Professor in 1982. He was the Chair of Pathology of the Locomotor System at the University of Reggio Calabria since 1983 and in 1986 he became Full Professor. From... read more1992 to 2014, he was Full Professor at the University of Rome “Tor Vergata” where he also directed the School of Specialization in Orthopedics and Traumatology. Retired, he has been teaching at the same Specialization School since 2015 with the qualification of Professor Emeritus. He carried out a specialization internship at the Department of Orthopedics of the University of Iowa (U.S.A.) from 1977 to 1979, financed by the National Research Council. He mainly practices reconstructive and prosthetic skeletal surgery of the hip, knee and ankle, lumbo-sacral spinal surgery, hand and foot surgery. He is the author of more than 200 scientific publications, many of which on Pediatric Orthopaedics, published in leading international journals. Since 2018, he has been an orthopedic consultant at the Bambino Gesù Pediatric Hospital.
