Prof. Dr. Karel Allegaert KU Leuven, Belgium

Karel Allegaert (MD, PhD) attended the KU Leuven university and was trained there to obtain a registration for pediatrics, neonatology, and clinical pharmacology. His clinical research initially focused on neonatal clinical pharmacology and pain, to evolve to perinatal and pediatric clinical pharmacology, including also clinical pharmacology during pregnancy and lactation. He is currently full professor at KU Leuven (Faculty of Medicine, and Faculty of Pharmacy), with an additional senior researcher position at Erasmus MC, and a guest professorship at the Children Hospital, Zhengzhou, China.
