Biography

Aldrin Gomes is a Professor of Physiology and Vice-Chair in the Department of Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior at the University of California (UC), Davis. Aldrin has been at UC Davis for the last 15 years and studies the role of the proteasome in cardiac signaling. Aldrin earned a B.S. with... read morehonors in Biochemistry and Zoology, and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of the West Indies, Trinidad. He has won the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Mentoring Undergraduate Research and the Distinguished Graduate and Postdoctoral Mentorship Award, and is a Fellow of the Cardiovascular section of the American Physiology Society and the American Heart Association. His research also involves improving the reproducibility of Western blotting applications.
