Oleg Gerasimenko completed his PhD at the Bogomoletz Institute of Physiology, Kiev, Ukraine, with Prof. P. Kostyuk in 1991 before joining the lab of Prof. O.H. Petersen at the Department of Physiology in Liverpool and establishing his group. Currently he is a Reader in the Department of Physiology. The major topic of his research is in intranuclear calcium dynamics, the organization of calcium stores in the nuclear envelope and its functions.
