Biography

Kelly Powell, PhD received her undergraduate degree in Psychology as well as Human Development and Education from Brown University and her doctorate in clinical psychology from American University. Dr. Powell is currently a licensed clinical psychologist and an Assistant Professor at the Yale Child Study Center. She specializes in comprehensive... read moreassessment of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), from birth to young adulthood. At Yale, Dr. Powell is the Co-Director of the Toddler Developmental Disabilities Program, an interdisciplinary clinic of psychologists, speech-language pathologists, and social workers, performing diagnostic evaluations for young children suspected of having ASD. She is also a clinician at Yale NICU GRAD and provides developmental assessments to children with early complex medical needs. Dr. Powell is also actively involved in various research projects examining social and emotional development in children with ASD and is currently the Co-Director of a NIMH-funded Autism Center of Excellence Grant. She has co-authored numerous papers and book chapters and presented research findings nationally and internationally.
