Biography

Eric Smith obtained his MD from McGill University in 1998 followed by his neurology residency at the Partners Program (Massachusetts General and Brigham and Women’s Hospitals). He is now Professor of Neurology and the Kathy Taylor Chair in Vascular Dementia at the University of Calgary. He investigates neuroimaging markers of cerebral small vessel disease, the role of vascular cognitive impairment in cognitive aging in the general population, and new treatments for vascular cognitive impairment.
