Jean Cadet is currently Adjunct Professor at the Department of Nuclear Medicine and Radiobiology at the University of Sherbrooke, Canada. He received... read morehis PhD in chemistry from University of Grenoble in 1973 and was Visiting Associate" (1976) and "Visiting Assistant Professor" (1980) at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore and "AECL Visiting Scientist" (1978) at Chalk River Nuclear Laboratories, Canada. He is involved in research activities dealing with chemical and biochemical aspects of oxidatively generated, radiation- and photo-induced damage to DNA (mechanisms of damage formation, measurements in cell and assessment of biological features including DNA repair and mutagenesis). He is author or co-author of over 617 publications consisting of 523 original and review articles in peer-reviewed journals together with 94 book chapters. His h-index is 86 or 78 (after excluding self-citations) with a total of 26,300 citations by June 2019. He is currently Editor-in-Chief of Photochemistry and Photobiology and member of the editorial board of Radiation Research, International Journal of Radiation Biology, Mutation Research and Free Radical Biology in Medicine. He is the recipient of several awards including the Medal for Excellence from the European Society for Photobiology (2005), "Prix Charles Dhéré" and "Médaille Berthelot" from the French Academy of Sciences (2008) and "Ian Magnus Memorial Lecture" award from the European Society for Photodermatology (2018).
