Biography

Dr. Rinaldi received an M.D. degree in 2005 from the University of Federico II in Italy. His graduate studies were on the genotype-phenotype correlations in polyglutamine diseases and other neurological diseases. After the neurology residency in the Department of Neurological Sciences in Napoli, he joined the Neurogenetics Branch at the... read moreNational Institute of Health (NIH) in USA, as a Fellow in the laboratory of Kenneth Fischbeck, where he deepened his interest in translational research, with a particular focus on the mechanisms of pathogenesis of Spinal and bulbar muscular atrophy (SBMA). During this time he also obtained his Ph.D. degree in 2014, with the thesis entitled: From Disease Gene Identification to Therapeutic Targets in Neuromuscular Diseases. In 2015 Dr. Rinaldi joined the University of Oxford as a Clinical Research Fellow.
