Professor Giovanni Tosi is the Scientific Delegate and Coordinator of the Nanomedicine Platform at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, as well as the Vice Chair of Nano-Therapeutics WG of the European Technology Platform for Nanomedicine. He is the author or co-author of more than 100 publications in international... read morejournals and 3 book chapters, and has given over 200 presentations in international and national congresses. His works on nanoparticles for CNS delivery and targeting have been honored with national prizes and awards.

Professor Tosi has participated as a collaborator in several projects supported by the Italian Research Ministry as well as International Grants (EU, US, UK grants) in the field of nanomedicine and brain disorders. He is collaborating with a broad network of scientists in Italy and around the world. He currently acts as a referee for top journals in nanotechnology and nanomedicine such as the Journal of Controlled Release, Biomaterial, Nanomedicine and other journals dealing with Nanotechnology, Drug Delivery and Nanomedicine. He is also a member of the Committee for Research of University of Modena and Reggio Emilia.

Professor Tosi’s research activity is based on the development of lipid and polymeric systems for the delivery and the targeting of drugs to the Central Nervous System by use of nanoparticulate vectors (NP) and he has been the PI of a number of national and international research programs focused on nanomedicine application to neurodegenerative and neruometabolic disorders.
