Biography

Dr Kevin Pollock is the lead healthcare scientist for the Immunisation team within Health Protection Scotland. His remit includes HPV, MMR and Shingles. He has worked on secondment for WHO and led an outbreak management team co-ordinating the response to a massive outbreak of viral gastroenteritis in Montenegro in 2008.... read moreHe currently runs the surveillance component of the Scottish HPV vaccination programme and is a CSO-funded co-investigator into the effects of the HPV vaccine on oral prevalence of virus. In August 1974, a few days before Kevin was born, he was rushed from Cyprus as the Turks invaded and eventually arrived in Scotland. Forty-three years later, he can only look on at his former country’s economic downfall and think what might have been.
