Claire was Head of Complement at GlaxoSmithKline from 2013-2016 where she directed the complement drug discovery programme prior to joining Newcastle University in 2016 as Professor of Immunology. Claire’s research focus includes complement-mediated disease mechanisms, complement drug discovery including target identification and indication validation, biomarkers of disease and patient stratification. Her research group is associated with the National Renal Complement Therapeutics Centre based at the Royal Victoria Infirmary at Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
